This is wt i hv done when i was form5, which is yr10 in Australian education sys. One of my art works in my portfolio for public exam.
Theres lots of contradiction among this world, and protection is a typical example. Nowadays, ppl save energy and use green products but at the same time, the total numbers of personal computers, private cars and electronic wastes are increased rapidly.
This situation is just like our left hand is holding a cutter to cut "the life tree" while another hand is protecting this "deadwood" with itself. Damage and protection are both done by us! Is it a bit ironic? Shd we reflect our lifestyle rather than give out million of protection idea?
Hong Kong Public Housing in 80s
Why i said it is a great piece of architecture? It isnt because its designed by great famous architect. But is coz these buildings were reli suitable the situation at that time and solved the problem. During that period of time, Hong Kong got lots of ppl who were homeless or lived in bad living condition, eg. more than 5 ppl lived in a single room. this also caused problem of health and hygiene. This H-shaped public housing (which shown in the photo) is easy to build and fast build with a standard quality. Architecture is not only a art but the main purpose is to meet the need. and Hong Kong public housing do.
Queen's College Open days
One of my most beautiful memories in my life time. Maybe its not a excellent photograph but im sure the meaning inside is more wonderful than national geographic photos in my mind.
Its my Alma Mater's open days and i was member of the organizing team. Everything was fine until the rainstorm came. It happened on afternoon, open days is just started for a few hours. Heacy rain caused our outdoor exhibition need to close and even the HK Observatory suggested ppl to stay indoor.
Our reaction after heard this bad news is sad, but only for few seconds,we all backed to our own post quickly. "No regret" is inside every single one of our heart.
We didnt break the visitors record in the end. but we surely gained more than just a part of history, we got brotherhood.
