Model-It!

the best way to do the spatial analysis is MODEL MAKING...

1st studio... first model in my life time, cuts are horrible and big gap between each  balsa board...final product  has unique shape and spatial connection...anyway, quite nice start haha

did the wrong scale, the length of it is shorter by 2cm....this is the second one...more developed skills and  start knowing how to organize the dimension stuff...
Make sure your plan is in right scale before you start anything cutting...

3 little design models for 2nd studio...enjoyable process from the section to the final one...with the same section , different student gave out their own building which is unique...try to use balsa create space and think of their relationship...this is creativity and somehow computing software cant do so

Site model of louis kahn's fisher house...cutting thick board is hard but you will surely feel successful after you have done all the contour lines...  the slope and the landscape of the site is something cant be fully expressed in paper...
Detailed model....well understanding the structure and design details of the building....although its just a corner, it costed me few hours...
The final project

1:50 scale can truly showed the ratio and details of the building at the same time

The spatial of the interior can be presented well in model....

also the light quality of the interior...

Model is much easier to understand the design  of it than any plan, elevation or section...especially for our clients...
